“Over 35 lakh MSME units provide maximum jobs
in Gujarat”

Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Government’s Industry Department and Central Government’s Small Industries Deve lopment Bank of India
(SIDBI) entered into an MoU in presence of Chief
Minister Vijay Rupani here today.
It was signed by Chief
Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary and Additional
Chief Secretary for Industry and Mines M.K. Das and
SIDBI DMD Vasantharao Satya Venkata Rao.
Speaking on the occasion,
Mr.
Rupani reiterated his
government’s commitment to encourage the MSME sector. It recently announced Rs.768-crore Atmanirbhar package as part of slew of
incentives to the MSME sector under the new Industrial Policy-2020. He exude confidence that over 35 lakh MSME
units, providing maximum jobs in Gujarat, would continue to get active support
and guidance of SIDBI.
Mr. Rupani said the MoU with SIDBI is intended to
provide financial assistance, capital subsidy, interest subsidy, patent
assistance, technology transfer and acquisition, innovation to provide financial assistance, market
support, innovation, technology transfer, build capacity to compete in the
global market.
He said SIDBI will help the
small industries in the state in the prevailing situation due to COVID-10, will suggest the Gujarat Government ways
to increase the scope and effectiveness of the sector after evaluation of
infrastructure projects to develop MSME clusters and common facility centres,
help MSME units develop in tandem with global trends, compete on the digital
platform through hand-holding.
Mr. Rupani said that Rs.10,56,268 lakh loan has been approved so far
for 2,11,532 MSME units of Gujarat under Emergency Credit Link Guarantee Scheme
as part of the Central Government’s
Atmanirbhar Package.
The Chief Minister too
announced exemption from stamp duty on bank loans up to Rs.50,000 under this scheme.
