Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani will lay a foundation-stone for a water supply scheme based on ‘Narmada’ as well as ‘Mahi Parihage Yojna’ at Budhel village in Bhavnagar Tehsil of Bhavnagar district on Saturday, December 12th, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
The cost of the scheme is estimated at Rs. 376.19-Crore and will supply water to rural, urban and industrial areas of Bhavnagar, Amreli and Gir Somnath districts, in total covering population of 43-lakh people of 20 cities and 612 villages. For the scheme, a 58 km long water pipeline from Budhel to Borda will be laid.
The water source for the scheme would be made available by pumping Narmada waters from Saurashtra canal at Dhanki Pumping Station to drop them into Mahi Parihage Lake and Valbhipur branch-canal. The scheme would meet the collective water shortage demand of 18-crore liter water per day of three districts -- Bhavnagar, Amreli and Gir Somnath.
The scheme would be
completed in the next 20 months’ time.
